Donatella Versace has teamed up with Revolve Group to launch an independent fashion and beauty brand, her first project since leaving Versace in 2025.

Donatella Versace Launches New Fashion Brand With Revolve

Italian designer Donatella Versace has partnered with Revolve Group to launch a new independent fashion and beauty brand, marking her return to creative direction.

The joint venture, announced on Monday, September 21, 2026, ahead of Milan Fashion Week, remains currently unnamed, with its official title and initial product line scheduled for release in 2027.

The agreement marks the first time in nearly three decades that the designer is embarking on a major project outside the fashion house bearing her family surname. Versace will lead creative direction for the long-term venture, overseeing both clothing and beauty lines, while expanding into the entertainment sector.

Targeting a new generation

The brand is built around Versace's personal creative vision and aims to connect with younger consumers through culture and entertainment. In a statement announcing the partnership, Versace explained that she believes creativity must be bold, inclusive, and active in the world, identifying music, cinema, art, and fashion as fields where younger generations inspire her work.

Under the agreement, Revolve Group will provide its technological, commercial, and international distribution infrastructure. Founded in 2003 by Michael Mente and Mike Karanikolas, the United States-based retailer works with more than 1,600 brands across its platforms and has centered its business model on millennial and Generation Z consumers.

Versace noted that Revolve shares her belief that culture arises from connection, adding that the partnership aims to create that connection with a new voice, a new look, and a new energy.

Global expansion and product scope

The initiative will encompass both fashion and beauty products, extending beyond traditional runway shows into broader entertainment initiatives. The company plans to distribute its offerings across key international markets, including the United States, Latin America, the Asia-Pacific region, and the Middle East.

Consumers will have to wait until 2027 to see the initial proposals and learn the official name of the project. Unlike her past work, the venture represents a blank page for the designer, who is building an independent universe from scratch rather than interpreting historic brand codes or continuing her family legacy.

Transition from the house of Versace

The move follows major leadership and corporate shifts at her former fashion house over the past year and a half. Versace stepped down as creative director of Versace in March 2025 after leading the brand for nearly 30 years following the 1997 death of her brother, founder Gianni Versace. She then assumed a role as brand ambassador while Dario Vitale took over as creative director.

The label subsequently underwent further transformation when it was acquired by Prada Group. Vitale departed the company after a single season, and fashion designer Pieter Mulier was appointed to lead the new creative era at Versace, with his debut runway presentation scheduled for January 2027.
