Ellie Goulding has released a new single that appears to chronicle how she fell for boyfriend Beau Minniear despite having reservations about him. The song, titled 4 Seasons, dropped just months after The Mail on Sunday revealed Minniear's criminal past.
Set against the backdrop of Florence's Four Seasons Hotel, where suites cost up to £5,575 a night, Goulding sings about falling in love and later adds: "No I don't usually trust guys like you/ But right now I don't care."
The 39-year-old singer appears to use the track to chart the beginning of her romance with Minniear, 29, who is the father of her four-month-old daughter.
Minniear's Criminal Record
The Utah-born actor, who has appeared in independent films, theatre productions, and commercials, was arrested in Palm Beach, Florida, in 2018. He was charged with three offences: robbery without a firearm, felony battery resulting in serious bodily injury, and marijuana possession.
According to documents filed by the West Palm Beach Police Department, Minniear and two other men were arrested following an altercation on a street at around 2.30am. A 36-year-old man claimed he was kicked and punched multiple times while on the ground, suffering a fractured elbow and a bleeding nose. The victim also alleged his trousers were ripped off and his wallet stolen.
Minniear served two days in county jail before admitting to misdemeanour battery as part of an apparent plea deal. Appearing before a jury in November 2018, he was granted probation and ordered to pay $675 in costs.
A Different Romance
The relationship marks a notable shift for Goulding, who seven years ago married Eton-educated art dealer Caspar Jopling, 34, in a ceremony at York Minster attended by Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. The couple share a five-year-old son, Arthur, and divorced in 2024. Jopling, who studied at Oxford and Harvard and once rowed for Team GB, is reported to be worth £6.3 million.
