Emily Atack shared photos from a family holiday on Monday, alongside reports that producers want her to return for a third Inbetweeners movie on Netflix.
Atack, 36, posted Instagram snaps of a trip with her fiancé, scientist Alistair Garner, and their son Barney, joking they had spent a couple of days of "tapas and tantrums."
She posed for a mirror selfie in a patterned blue and white swimsuit, wearing her blonde hair half up and half down without make-up.
Garner, wearing an unbuttoned black shirt and orange trousers, was pictured kissing her on the cheek. Other photos showed Garner having a beer at lunch and Atack drinking a glass of white wine in a blue crochet top, as well as wearing a white dress.
Inbetweeners reboot
The holiday comes after The Sun reported that Atack is wanted for a new Inbetweeners film. The newspaper claimed the core cast of Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley and Blake Harrison have signed deals for a third movie on Netflix, following three seasons between 2008 and 2010 and two film spinoffs. Streaming bosses want Atack to reprise her role as Charlotte "Big Jugs" Hinchcliffe.
"The creators of the show have written the script and are ready to roll, but Emily is one of the missing pieces in the project they're keen to get in place," a source told the publication.
The source added: "Fans will already be delighted that the four main leads are returning as there was concern that a reboot might see new, younger actors cast in the roles of the lads, who were all supposed to be teenagers in the show."
"But it's fair to say getting Emily back would be the cherry on the Inbetweeners cake."
Past reunion
The Sun reported the four main actors were thrilled to be asked back. However, the move is a surprise because Atack was reportedly axed from a reunion five years ago.
In 2019, Buckley reportedly told producers it was "her or me" due to a "past fling" the pair had while single during the show's run. Reports at the time suggested Buckley was afraid his wife Clair Meek would find out about the brief relationship.
It may also be difficult for Atack to commit due to her schedule. She stars in the Disney series Rivals, is making a BBC programme called Reputation, and is waiting to hear if ITV will commission a second series of Nobody's Fool, a game show she hosts with Danny Dyer.
The source said if filming begins soon, the film could air as early as 2027.
Cannes hen weekend
Atack has previously been asked about returning to the show. She recently told Capital FM: "I don't know. We'd all be quite a lot older now."
"What was quite funny was when we filmed the series I was only 17, I'd just left school, but the boys were well into... I think they were in their late twenties, early thirties," she said.
The actress is due to marry Garner in Spain in September. The couple got engaged in July 2025, having welcomed their son the year before.
Last month she shared photos from her hen weekend in Cannes with about 20 friends. She posed in a black two-piece to top up her tan, a white Agent Provocateur bikini and cover up, and a golden satin co-ord with a novelty veil.
The group enjoyed an incredible spread of food and drank Lady A rosé, with Atack joking she had had enough of the wine to last a lifetime. She wrote on Instagram: "The most insanely perfect few days. Pure joy from start to finish and enough @drinkladya to last us a lifetime."
"I thoroughly recommend having a hen do even if you aren't getting married btw. It's the most fun you'll ever have losing all of your belongings." She also posted photos in a rainbow sequinned dress and veil before the trip.
