Enrique del Pozo has rejected claims by Amador Mohedano regarding the marriage of late singer Rocio Jurado and Jose Ortega Cano.
The singer stated he holds personal knowledge of a traumatic episode involving Ortega Cano that Jurado's own brother never came to know, opening a fresh rift over the family's history.
Del Pozo asserted on the television program Fiesta that the iconic Spanish performer intended to present her husband with divorce papers prior to her death, directly contradicting Mohedano's public insistence that the couple enjoyed a normal and happy relationship.
Recounting an encounter at the couple's Yerbabuena estate, Del Pozo recalled eating with Jurado after being invited to the ranch. He said journalist Jesus Quintero was also present and spoke privately with Jurado before the two men departed together in a taxi.
During the taxi ride, Del Pozo asked Quintero why Jurado appeared distressed and tearful. Quintero then revealed that Jurado wished to divorce Ortega Cano because she could not take the situation any longer, a revelation Del Pozo said he recorded in his personal diaries at the time.

Del Pozo added that Jurado expressed a similar desire to end her marriage during a trip to Mexico with another individual. Although he emphasized that Ortega Cano was a gentleman who stood by Jurado until her final days, Del Pozo insisted that external factors such as her family, daughter, and subsequent illness prevented the formal separation from going forward.
Amador Mohedano denies divorce intentions
Amador Mohedano, who served as Jurado's manager, confidant, and right-hand man, strongly denied the divorce claims in statements to El verano se mueve. Mohedano insisted that his sister and Ortega Cano experienced a standard partnership with far more happiness than conflict.
Mohedano previously disclosed on the program De viernes a heated argument between his sister and Ortega Cano during which Jurado fainted, prompting Mohedano to confront the bullfighter directly. He explained that he revealed the incident to demonstrate that no marriage is perfect, while dismissing talk of an intended separation as artificial media content.
The public revelation of these marital disputes has put Gloria Camila, the daughter of Jurado and Ortega Cano, in a difficult position. She has condemned her uncle for unearthing painful memories from her parents' past while she actively defends the stability of their union.

Family dispute and Rocio Carrasco docuseries
The ongoing clash coincides with claims made by Rocio Carrasco, Jurado's daughter, in her televised docuseries. Carrasco maintains that her mother died still in love with her first husband, boxer Pedro Carrasco, and refused to accept that her parents built new lives with secondary spouses.
Carrasco has also dismissed reports of a snub toward Ortega Cano and Gloria Camila, while commentators have described Mohedano as another victim of the controversial docuseries output.
Background on the Jurado family legacy
Rocio Jurado was one of Spain's most celebrated musical figures, famed internationally for her powerful voice across copla and flamenco genres. Married to professional bullfighter Jose Ortega Cano in 1995, her personal life and estate have remained subjects of persistent public coverage following her death in 2006.
Ortega Cano was a prominent Spanish matador who retired after a long career in the arena. The Yerbabuena estate in Andalusia served as the couple's primary rural residence, while Spanish television networks such as Telecinco frequently broadcast debates involving family members and former associates regarding the late singer's archives.
