Enzo Zidane Leads Sports Venture After Football Retirement

Enzo Zidane, the former Real Madrid midfielder and eldest son of football legend Zinedine Zidane, has stepped into corporate leadership by taking charge of sports wellness holding Z5 Sports & Wellness following his retirement from professional football.

The 29-year-old former player retired from active competition in 2024 after a nomadic playing career across clubs in Spain and Switzerland. He is now turning his full attention to business ventures focused on sports training, facility management, athletic education and overall health.

Zidane has established a structured corporate framework through the Z5 Sports & Wellness holding company. Under this main business entity, he has spearheaded the creation of new corporate ventures, including LN S&W 2026 SL and Z5 Hortaleza SL.

These companies focus on managing sports facilities, athletic clubs and structured physical education programs. The strategic move allows Zidane to direct the professional knowledge he gained during his development at Real Madrid toward building grassroots sports initiatives and promoting comprehensive health.

Youth development and playing career

Born to Zinedine Zidane and Véronique Fernández, Enzo Zidane grew up in the spotlight of elite European football. His father is regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of the sport, having won the 1998 FIFA World Cup with France before leading Real Madrid to three consecutive UEFA Champions League titles as manager.

Carrying one of football's most famous surnames brought constant public attention throughout Enzo's career. He entered the youth setup at Real Madrid, spending years refining his technique at the club's Valdebebas training complex in Madrid, where the Spanish powerhouse nurtures its rising talent.

After progressing through Real Madrid's academy ranks as a central midfielder, Zidane embarked on a professional journey that saw him feature for several European clubs. He played in Spain's top flight for Deportivo Alavés, spent time in Switzerland with Lausanne-Sport, and later represented Spanish sides Rayo Majadahonda and Fuenlabrada before bringing his playing career to a close at age 29 in 2024.

Family focus and social media strategy

The transition into corporate executive roles also reflects a desire for personal stability alongside his wife, model and influencer Karen Gonçalves. The couple live in Spain with their three young daughters.

Zidane commands a major digital following, with over 1.3 million followers across his social media accounts. Despite his broad online reach, he maintains an understated public persona, avoiding traditional media hype in favor of sharing content centered on healthy habits, athletic wellness and family life.

The Zidane footballing dynasty

Enzo is the eldest pioneer of a footballing family where all four brothers followed their father onto the pitch. While Enzo has pivoted away from playing to focus on entrepreneurship, management and future planning, his three younger brothers continue their active careers in Spanish football.

Luca Zidane serves as a goalkeeper for Granada CF, Theo Zidane plays as a midfielder for Córdoba CF, and Elyaz Zidane features for Real Betis Deportivo, the reserve side of La Liga club Real Betis. By establishing himself in sports business, Enzo has shown that a career in football can evolve beyond the pitch, turning the weight of a famous family name into a foundation for commercial success.
