Relatives of cameraman Galina Hutchins, who died on the set of Rust, have filed a lawsuit against American actor Alec Baldwin and the film’s production team. According to The Guardian, the plaintiffs were Hutchins’ mother Olga Solovey, father Anatoly Androsovich and younger sister Svetlana Zemko.
Negligence, intentional infliction of moral harm, insult by action and loss of family community due to the death of a relative – they put forward such claims to the actor in court documents.

The last two accusations are terms in the law of the United States, where the family intends to sue. The scale of possible consequences for the actor is not specified.
Galina Hutchins died on October 21, 2021. Lead actor Alec Baldwin was reported to have pulled the trigger during a rehearsal for one of Rust’s scenes, unaware that the gun contained live ammunition. Director Joel Souza was also injured. Despite this, Baldwin has stated in some interviews that he did not fire the pistol. The fact that the actor will be prosecuted under a criminal article for murder became known in January of this year.
