Taraji P. Hanson will repeat as host of the 2022 BET Awards, which will be broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on June 26. In 2021.

Henson is the fourth main team or host in the show’s history to run the show for two years, followed by Steve Harvey and Cedric Entertainer (2001-02), Mo’Nique (2003-04) and black star Anthony Anderson. and Tracey Alice Ross (2015-16).
Hanson is a six-time winner of the BET Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performances in films such as Hustle & Flow and Hidden Figures and the television series Empire. She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in A Curious Case for Benjamin Mr. 2008 and received three Emmy nominations for Fox’s Empire and Lifetime’s Take From Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story.
The BET Awards is one of the most watched and awarded cable TV shows. The BET Awards franchise remains the number one show in cable television history among African Americans, and is BET’s number one television show annually.
2022 BET Awards June 26, Sunday, 8pm ET/PT. The show will be broadcast live on the East Coast and filmed on the West Coast end. Orlando will oversee the show, with Jamal Noisett, VIP, Specialty, Music Programming and Music Strategy, who will co-executive produce BET. Jesse Collins Entertainment is the producer of the show, co-produced by Collins, Dion Harmon and Jeanne Rouzan-Clay.

In fall 2020, Henson announced his production company, TPH Entertainment (his initials), along with his producing partner Christine Conley. TPH Entertainment recently entered into a joint venture with BET Studios. Hanson is represented by CAA, M88, The Lede Company and Johnson, Shapiro, Slewitt & Kole.
Voting for the first round of the BET Awards will take place from Friday, May 6 to Thursday, May 13. The BET Awards have been held annually since 2003 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, with the exception of the 2020 show, which was virtual due to the pandemic.
