‘As Five’ Actress Jade Mascarenhas Reports Sexual Harassment On Bus

The actress Jade Mascarenhaswho is part of the cast of the second season of the series at fivefrom the Rede Globerevealed that he was a victim of verbal and sexual harassment on a bus traveling from Rio de Janeiro to Sao Paulo last Friday the 10th.

He reported the crime through social media. “It is with great embarrassment and anger that I come to present this report and hope that it will be helpful and that I, like many other victims, will have access to justice. I know my case to be accepted so quickly is rare,” he wrote.

According to Jade, she was returning to São Paulo after a visit to Rio, and the trip had already been extended due to a landslide on the Via Dutra (BR-116), in the Serra das Araras region.

“A gentleman, old enough to be my father and possibly grandfather, harassed me verbally and sexually, during a journey that had already taken 12 hours and we were all exhausted,” she said.

The actress said a man who appeared to be in his 55s and 60s sat next to her, said “horrible things,” touched her without consent, and tried to forcefully kiss her as she slept.

“I was welcomed by the passengers, the police and the company, but I keep wondering what I could have done to avoid it, feeling helpless,” Jade vents.

Excited, she said other passengers protected her from the man and called the police, who, at the end of the trip, were already stationed at the Tietê bus station in São Paulo to take him to the police station.

“Special thanks to the 4 passengers who decided to go to the Police Headquarters to testify with me, and for this reason they renounced their commitments, to ask for justice with me. Like me, they had to take time off work due to shock and indignation. We have spent 14 hours on the bus and 3 hours at the police station. I leave this report here as a complaint, together with the footage of one of the passengers,” he added.
