In the past, Alejandro Speitzer has given plenty to talk about with his style of dressing (especially when he posed in a “crop top” for a magazine).
Accordingly, rumors about her love life have made headlines.
Regardless of the controversies surrounding him, the actor from ‘Adventures in Time’ (a soap opera you can watch for free on ViX) has chosen to focus on his new projects for the small screen.
Now, exactly one of his roles has landed him in the middle of a new controversy.
Fans and the anti-racism collective pointed out Alejandro Speitzer as wearing a serially darker complexion
The 28-year-old actor stars in “The Head of Joaquín Murrieta,” a Primer Video series that attempts to tell the story of the popular Mexican bandit who stole gold and other valuables from American miners to distribute to Mexican farmers.
For example, on the Instagram post in which he shared his trailer, there were some comments accusing him of going “brown” or coloring his skin to portray the character.
The collective Poder Prieto, which seeks to eradicate racism and open the doors of representation to darker skinned people in Mexican film and television, also spoke on the topic.
On February 5, she took to Twitter accusing the producer of making a “cheeky brown face” and added:
Alejandro Speicher has responded to accusations that he wore a darker color in a row
In this regard, the actor of “Rayito de luz” (a soap opera that you can watch for free on ViX) was questioned by the press at the premiere of the production in Mexico.
He added that he is in “absolute disagreement” with the accusations of “brownface” since “they haven’t even seen (who accused him of it) ‘The head of Joaquín Murrieta.’
In this sense, he reiterated that “they don’t know where the character is from, they don’t know his history, I tell them the characters are in 1850, full of earth, exposed to the sun… That’s the answer.”
Changing the subject, a reporter asked him if there is anyone in his life who helps him “keep his feet on the ground.”
Regarding his next projects, Alejandro Speitzer announced that he will be moving to Colombia for a while to work on a film.
Tell us in the comments, what do you think of Alejandro Speitzer’s skin color controversy in ”The Head of Joaquín Murrieta”?
