Richard Gere’s wife Alejandra Silva has shared how the actor is doing just days after being diagnosed with pneumonia.
It was on February 18 when the portal TMZ announced that the 73-year-old artist had been hospitalized in emergency while on vacation with his family in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico.
After the news broke, the philanthropist said on Instagram, without elaborating, that Gere was “on the mend” and that “the worst” was over.
Richard Gere is ‘feeling much better’ after suffering from pneumonia
On January 21, the actor’s wife posted a message in which she explained not only the current state of her husband’s health, but also what happened to him.
Hi everyone, just a little update, Richard is feeling much better. We are all feeling much better, ‘almost’ back to normal,” he wrote.
After expressing his gratitude to “Dr. Ríos and the Joya Hospital [Riviera]”, the Spanish activist revealed that she, the star of the movie “Pretty Woman” and her children were already feeling bad before their trip.
“We came to Mexico to continue the conservation work south of Puerto Vallarta, we were all from New York not feeling well,” he said.
She said her little boy James, almost 3, was also suffering from pneumonia, while she and her older son, Alexander, had sinus and ear infections.
“Now we are all well and almost fully recovered,” he said to reassure fans of the Hollywood star.
Silva accompanied his text with two images. In the first, she, Geer and their children are shown going on a hike. It is unclear if it was recent activity.
On postcard number two you can see a photo from when the actor was young. He wears only jeans and makes a gesture like blowing a kiss.
