Hollywood actress Goldie Hawn has become the main character of Variety’s special issue dedicated to the upcoming Oscars 2023. In a dialogue with reporters, the mother of actress Kate Hudson recalled how she once slept through the awards ceremony, where she was named the best supporting actress. Goldie was awarded an award for her role in the film “Cactus Flower”. The picture was the first serious work of the aspiring actress in the cinema, so the girl did not hope to receive an award.

I didn’t dress up and I didn’t get an award. And I regret it. That’s what I’m talking about now, looking back, I think: “It would be so great to be able to do this.” I forgot that the ceremony was shown on TV that evening. Then I woke up from a phone call at about four in the morning. And a male voice said, “Hey, congratulations, you did it.” I asked: “I did what?”. And he said, “You won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress,” Hawn said.

The actress recalled that then she thanked an unfamiliar voice, hung up, called her parents and “cried well.” Goldie Hawn has repeatedly said that she is calm about awards and fame. She keeps her Oscar in her bedroom closet, where almost no one sees it.

I’m not particularly proud. I kind of keep quiet about these things,” said the 77-year-old actress.

Hawn also mentioned her relationship with her husband Kurt Russell, with whom they have been living together for 40 years. The actress said that he does not consider himself a movie star. The couple is happily married and does not think about their fame.

Kurt is extraordinarily smart, creative and cooperative in everything. And in general, in fact, he is simply amazing.

Goldie also believes that real movie stars are no more. In her opinion, all actors are too obsessed with the mania to earn more money.

We used to be able to say, “I’m going to take a break because I think I’m working too hard.” Many of these people who are appearing in the movie business today are making more money than anyone has ever made as an actor, but they are unknown. Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell met back in 1966 on the set of the Disney film The One and Only True Original Family Orchestra, but the relationship between them did not begin until 1983, when they both starred in the movie Change of Shift. In 1986, they became the happy parents of the first common child – the son of Wyatt. From a previous marriage to American musician Bill Hudson, the actress raised a daughter, Kate, and a son, Oliver. Last fall, Kurt and Goldie dressed up as Disney princes and princesses for their granddaughter’s birthday.
