The episode occurred after the communicator published a video in support of a health prevention campaign
Like every year, Olga Bongiovanni made a post on March 9 in support of World Kidney Day, promoted by the Brazilian Society of Nephrology to raise awareness of the importance of preventing diseases of vital organs.
“A simple blood test will tell you whether or not you have a kidney problem,” says the presenter in the video posted on social media.
Olga told Sala de TV that she was surprised by a comment not on the importance of the message, but in relation to her appearance.
“Woman of God, fix that hair, creature,” wrote one follower. Known for her unwavering education, the journalist gave a precise answer. “Sorry, but I’m more worried about my kidneys than my hair.”
“I read it and I didn’t believe it. There is no way a person is paying attention to this, wasting his time posting this kind of comment,” she protests.
Olga claims that she is not held hostage by aesthetic standards. “There’s a culture that people who are on social networks can only appear with perfect hair and super makeup. I wake up, I go to my garden, to my vegetable garden. I’m not too concerned about the looks. I’m a real person, I don’t use filters”.
Despite this type of unfortunate situation experienced daily by public figures, Olga Bongiovanni does not intend to distance herself from digital platforms.
“I have a strong relationship with the people who have been following me for many years. A beautiful friendship was born, I receive affection and I am respected. There is a pleasant exchange,” she reports.
