Shakira would have planned to move, together with her children and parents, to Miami on the first day of April, as reported by the Spanish press.
However, it now emerges that the 46-year-old singer wouldn’t want to stay in the $20 million luxury mansion she’s owned since 2001 and would consider buying one that’s hard for pryers to access.
Shakira would like to enjoy privacy on an island in Miami
While the “Congratulations” singer continues without confirming her departure from Barcelona, reports suggest that her current residence on North Bay Road does not appear to be ready for her arrival.
“We have been there and the house is not painted, the pool is not maintained…” he told journalist Alex Rodríguez during an appearance on “El programa de Ana Rosa”.
“Everything is paralyzed, it doesn’t look like it’s going to accept anyone. Only the gardeners are working,” he added.
This property is located in an exclusive area of ”La ciudad del sol” and has amenities such as a gym, but is not secluded enough from the outside.
That’s because her backyard connects to the bay and a dock allows access from it, so the paparazzi and her neighbors could spy on her if they wanted to.
Supposedly, so that nothing disturbs her peace of mind, nor that of her little ones, Milan and Sasha, or her parents, Shakira is looking to acquire a more sheltered mansion.
“He is interested in another house, which is very near there. It’s not publicly accessible, it’s in a private area, namely a small island, and it’s owned by an Indian businessman,” Rodríguez pointed out.
According to the communicator, the Colombian singer and songwriter is thinking of becoming the new owner of the residence in question and has already shared it with her relatives.
“She told one of her best friends, named Kathy, that she plans to move in with her,” he explained.
Rodríguez is likely referring to Kathy Kopp, the Colombian’s longtime stylist and personal advisor, who has been her support since her split from Gerard Piqué.
This is how Shakira has lived in Barcelona
In recent years, the creator of the hit “BZRP Music Sessions #53” has been living in a mansion located in the Ciutat Diagional urbanization of Esplugues de Llobregat, in the Catalan capital.
Built on a plot of 41,000 square feet, the luxury mansion is valued at 14 million euros ($14,865,900). The house has three floors, a games room, a library, a gym, several swimming pools and a cinema, among other amenities, according to information from Spanish newspapers AS and ABC.
