The defense attorney for Jonathan Majors, who played the villain Kang in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania”, spoke on Saturday (3/25) of the actor’s arrest, stating that he has evidence proving his innocence.
“Jonathan Majors is completely innocent and was likely the victim of an altercation with a woman he knows,” attorney Priya Chaudhry said in a statement. “We are collecting and presenting evidence to the District Attorney with the expectation that all charges will be dropped soon.”
According to the attorney, the actor is “eager to clear his name.”
He described the material that allegedly cleared him: “The evidence includes video footage of the vehicle in which the incident occurred, witness statements from the driver and others who saw and heard the incident, and most importantly, two statements woman’s writings portraying these allegations.”
“All the evidence shows that Mr. Majors is completely innocent and has not harmed anyone in any way,” added the lawyer.
Chaudhry also gave a version of what happened. “Unfortunately, this incident occurred because this woman was having an emotional crisis, for which she was taken to the hospital yesterday. The NYPD is required to make an arrest in these situations, and this was the only reason Mr. Majors has been arrested. We hope these charges are dropped soon.”
The police statement described the arrest as follows: “A preliminary investigation established that a 33-year-old man was involved in a domestic dispute with a 30-year-old woman. The victim informed police that she was assaulted. Years of detention without The victim suffered minor injuries to the head and neck and was transferred to a hospital in the area in stable condition”.
