In an interview with El País newspaper, ‘Poncho’ Herrera spoke about the emotional toll of his time at RBD.

“Until today I’m still a little scared when I go to a place where there are a lot of people,” he said in statements published on Monday (March 27).

Herrera recalled the rampant riots he and his former bandmates caused with their presence before the success of the group and the telenovela, which aired in 2004.

“We went it alone (before that) and supported each other because we had no psychological support to be able to deal with this situation,” he said.

One of the most difficult moments that marked ‘Poncho’ Herrera was what he and the group experienced in February 2006.

three of the fans of the team died in a riot during an autograph signing in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

“We share things that no one else will be able to know and that the six of us were there in difficult times, in happy times and in difficult times like when he was in Brazil,” he recalls.

It was very difficult. Years later we returned to Brazil, met the relatives and I met the father of one of the girls who lost her life,” he said.

This event marked me in a very deep way. And as long as I try to turn it around, it’s still there,” he said.
