On the air of the recent podcast “Smartless”, the actor admitted that at the beginning of his career, his agent advised the future star to change his name. According to the manager, Keanu was too “ethnic” for Hollywood.

When I was 20, I bought my first car and drove to Hollywood. And of course when I got there they wanted to change my name,” Reeves recalled.

Of course, young Keanu hesitated and decided to try the name Templeton.

Well, and I thought: “Well, well, and what will my name be?”. And it dawned on me: “I will be Templeton.”

However, this pseudonym did not take root, and instead of the name Keanu began to use his initials (K.S. Reeves).

Then, at the auditions, when they called me, I didn’t even immediately react. So I went back to my agent and said, “No, I can’t change my name.”
