Ahead of the historic event, the British royal family’s official social media account has released a new portrait of King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla. The picture shows the monarchs in matching outfits in the Blue Drawing Room at Buckingham Palace. The author of the portrait was the photographer Hugo Bernand.

The countdown to the coronation continues. A new portrait of the king and queen consort has been released. The photo was taken last month, according to the official announcement.

In the same post, representatives of the palace revealed some new details of the ceremony. For example, we already wrote that Prince George, the eldest son of Prince William and Kate Middleton, will be a page at his grandfather’s coronation. The special role of the 9-year-old boy is due to the fact that the young prince is second in line to the throne after his father. The king’s second page will be 13-year-old Nicholas Barkley, grandson of Sarah Troughton, one of Queen Elizabeth’s companions and oldest friends. They will also be joined by 13-year-old Lord Oliver Cholmondeley. His father David, Marquess of Cholmondeley was appointed Lord Receiver of the Monarch. The fourth page is 12-year-old Ralph Tollemache, the son of the British banker and aristocrat Edward Tollemache, godson of the king and honorary page of Elizabeth.

Camilla’s pages will be members of her family: 13-year-old grandchildren Gus and Louis Lopez, as well as Freddie Parker Bowles. The monarch’s wife’s great-nephew, 10-year-old Arthur Elliot, will be her fourth page. The details of Camilla’s coronation (and she will pass it on the same day as Charles) became known in mid-February.

And in mid-March, we wrote about what state jewels we would see at the coronation of Charles III. Read about the priceless regalia of the British monarchy here.
