Andrey, recently the premiere of the film “I want! I will!” took place, where you played one of the main roles — What do you remember most about the preparation process?
The most exciting part of the preparation was the stand-up performance. Since my hero is doing stand-up, I needed to feel for myself at least once what it is like when you try to make someone laugh from the stage. I wrote the program, there was even something resembling jokes, I was madly worried before going on stage, but in the end everything went pretty well. The audience laughed. In a good way.
How would you describe your character from the movie?
Stubborn and decent, freedom-loving and attached.
Why should our readers see “I want! I will!”?
Balmont has a poem “In the houses”. There, at the beginning, the internal state is very accurately described when life breaks you. Our cinema is designed to tell about what could be different. The fact that all limiting beliefs are only in our heads, many of them originate in childhood. And most can be changed. If at least someone is inspired after watching the film, then we have done our job.
The two most brilliant directors of all time?
Can’t limit myself to two — there should be a whole list of directors that I like. But since it’s necessary, let James Cameron and Leonid Gaidai be there.
Who do you dream of playing in your career?
An interesting person. Let it be an athlete, perhaps even a former athlete who found himself in difficult circumstances. Let it be a scientist or some real person. It’s easier to say who I don’t want to play. I definitely wouldn’t want to be just a handsome guy. I am different.
Which of the roles played do you remember the most?
There are not many of them so far, so that I can definitely single out something. At VGIK, I played Jerry Ryan in the play “Two on a Swing”, Alexei Karamazov in the play “Boys”. There is also a TV series “I’ll take your family”, where I had the main role. By the way, it was filmed later than the film “I want! I will!”, But it was released much earlier. It turns out that in “I want! I will!” My first major film role.
