Actor Pedro Pascal, best known for his roles in The Last of Us and The Mandalorian, posed for the cover of Esquire magazine. I’ve always said that there are two types of actors: there are actors that you are a little afraid of, and there are actors that you want to bring home, hug and give you soup. And he is both. Somehow he is both. And I think that everyone either has fond memories of a good father in their lives, or there is a terrible void in their heart where a positive father image should have been. Many have nostalgia or yearning for such non-toxic masculinity.

In real life, Pedro Pascal has no children and no permanent home of his own.

I recently thought: “Are you over 40, and you do not have your own house? Grow up.” But I refuse to conform to people’s ideas about what it means to be middle-aged and what it means to be fully grown up. Why should I “turn the square into a triangle” and become something other than what I am? I just don’t want to make any decisions,” Pascal said.

The actor himself, who worked as a waiter for a long time, was rejected after castings and barely made ends meet. Pedro admits that at some point he was already ready to leave the profession.

I decided that if by the age of 29 I did not have a serious experience in cinema, it would all be over. I was constantly redefining my views on what it means to dedicate my life to this profession. My childhood illusions were shattered. And there were many good reasons for this. Perhaps I continued to stubbornly move towards the goal, because I did not have any other skills.
