On April 24, the 48th Chaplin Award Gala was held at New York’s Lincoln Center. Actress Viola Davis, who in February of this year was awarded the prestigious EGOT title (she has all the major awards in the field of entertainment arts), became the main heroine of the evening — she received a statuette for numerous achievements in the film industry. At the event, she was supported by her friends-actresses — Meryl Streep and Jessica Chastain, with the first they once shared the set of the film “Doubt”, and with the second they starred together in the film “The Help”.

Viola chose an unusual black dress with gold fringe from Jason Wu for the ceremony, Jessica — sequined evening dress from last year’s Zuhair Murad collection, while Meryl, in turn, preferred a black trouser suit, which she accessorized — massive earrings and black-rimmed glasses. The actresses posed with pleasure for reporters together, laughed and hugged on camera, creating the perfect trio that more than one Hollywood director probably dreams of.
And in the life of Meryl Streep this spring a joyful event happened — she became a grandmother again. In early March, her daughter, Grace Gummer, gave birth to her first child with her lover, musician and producer Mark Ronson. For Meryl, this is not the first, but no less long-awaited grandson.
