In August this year, a book about the life of singer Amy Winehouse will go on sale. The famous performer died suddenly in 2011 at the height of her fame. The work will include excerpts from her personal diaries and sketches of texts written by her hand. According to NME, the book is titled “Amy Winehouse: In Her Words”.

Never-before-seen diary pages, handwritten lyrics and family photos come together under one cover for the first time to peer into the mind of a girl who has grown to become a legend, is how the late singer describes the book.

Amy Winehouse’s family has pledged to donate all proceeds from the sale of the print run to a charitable foundation named after her. In addition to the book about Amy, a biopic dedicated to her life is also being prepared for release. Filming of the film, titled “Back to Black” (the title refers to one of Winehouse’s most famous songs), has already begun in London. The film stars English actress Marisa Abela and is directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson of Fifty Shades of Gray and Becoming John Lennon.

It was previously revealed that Lesley Manville has joined the cast as Winehouse’s maternal grandmother, while Eddie Marsan will play Mitch Winehouse, the singer’s father. The film, written by Matt Greenhalgh, tells how an aspiring jazz artist from North London became a superstar and then tragically died at the age of 27. The project was produced by Alison Owen, Debra Hayward and Tracey Seaward.

However, fans of Amy Winehouse were dissatisfied with the choice of producers. Fans noted that in the paparazzi pictures, the image of Abela looks more like a cheap Halloween costume from AliExpress or Shein. One of the users even compared Marisa with the star of the parody franchise “Scary Movie” Anna Faris.
