Eight days before the coronation, Buckingham Palace unveiled new portraits of King Charles III and his wife, Queen Consort Camilla. The solemn photographs were taken last month by photographer Hugo Bernand in the blue drawing room of the palace next to a portrait of King George V, painted shortly after his coronation in June 1911. But in the new royal portraits, one can see a reference not only to the monarch ruling at the beginning of the last century, but also to the recently deceased Queen Elizabeth II. Camilla of Cornwall paid tribute to her mother-in-law by adding one significant detail to her image, so beloved by Her Majesty.
Luxurious pearl drop earrings adorned with sapphires and rubies, once owned by Elizabeth II, Camilla paired with an elegant blue crepe wool coat dress from her favorite designer Fiona Clare. A pearl necklace from the private collection of Camilla herself added to the completeness of the image.

Recall that Camilla will be officially announced as queen consort next weekend, May 6. At the coronation will be not only her children from her first marriage, but also her ex-husband. According to The Mirror journalists, 83-year-old Andrew will see with his own eyes how his three grandchildren will hold a canopy over Queen Camilla during the coronation in Westminster Abbey. One of the close friends of the Queen’s ex-husband noted that despite the fact that Camilla and Andrew divorced in 1995, they still maintain warm friendly relations to this day.
