On April 30, Olivia Bucio attended the Teatro Insurgentes 70th anniversary celebration in Mexico City and explained what happened with some difficulty speaking.

In an interview with journalist Edén Dorantes, the actress commented that “at the moment she can’t sing” and when asked why, she replied that she “got sick”.

The actress also saw that her mobility was affected after the heart attack and “all” her right arm “doesn’t move”.

An ischemic stroke “occurs when the blood supply to part of the brain is interrupted or reduced, preventing brain tissue from receiving oxygen and nutrients,” the Mayo Clinic website explains.

This condition can cause “temporary or permanent disabilities” such as “paralysis or loss of muscle movement” and “difficulty speaking or swallowing.”

Olivia Bucio did not elaborate on when she suffered the stroke or what her recovery was like.

“I remember ‘Yo y mi chica’, with Mr. Julio Alemán and ‘Peter Pan’ with ‘Loquito’ Valdés (…) Also when I did ‘Año 42’ with Mr. Joaquín Cordero.”

Olivia Bucio has also found success in the soap opera world. Her appearance on the small screen was with “Conflictos de un médico”, in the role of Isabel, after which she has worked non-stop in more than 20 melodramas.
