Alfonso ‘Poncho’ Herrera spoke candidly about his former classmates RBD with whom he has refused to participate in next world tour “Soy Rebelde World Tour” which will start next August.
The actor has said that he prefers to focus on other projects. It is alleged that his relationship with Anahí, Christopher Uckermann, Christian Chávez, Maite Perroni and Dulce María is no longer the best and has become strained.
They have denied these versions, but new statements from Herrera would reveal an alleged rift with his former team-mates.
“Poncho” Herrera reveals meeting former RBD
The artist was a guest on the ‘Creativo’ podcast where he revealed that in 2019 he met with former colleagues from the soap opera Rebeldefrom which the successful RBD team emerged.
This meeting would be key to defining his current position vis-a-vis them and the musical reunions.
“We had a WhatsApp group, you don’t know how many times they wanted to bring us together, and sometime in December 2019 I said, ‘I want to see them. let’s all live together and they don’t want to pick us up to go on tourto make a record,” he said in statements released this week.
” Make a real reunion of six friends that they look, that they talk and that’s it, we saw each other for Christmas,” he revealed.
” meet and talk as friendsand to open a bottle of wine and talk in pants stripped of all the jokes and all the memories and for me that was the true reunion,” he condemned.
That meeting at Christmas 2019 served for everyone to see each other again after so long, but under closer circumstances and only with each other.
“I was like, ‘gay, I want to see them, I want to laugh at what we live on tour.’ without necessarily wanting to sell us a record or a tourthat is (left behind)’,” he spoke making it clear that he has no interest in getting involved with his former teammates in this way.
” For me this was the real reunionthis I will always treasure, beyond all the possible business they want to do,” he criticized.
“It was very nice and we hugged and I remember that moment very fondly.”
That Christmas night would be the last in which all RBDs were seen. According to what they have said and shared on social networks, they have had subsequent one-on-one meetings, but ‘Poncho’ Herrera has not appeared in them.
For example, he was the only one of them who did not attend the Maite Perroni’s wedding to Andrés Tovar last October.
The former RBD stated that the idea of performing in concert came about as a result of their fans expressing it to them.
In December 2020, in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, it was the first reunion they had in a little more than a decade after the end of the musical project.
On that date they had a successful streaming presentation. ‘Poncho’ Herrera wasn’t the only one absent, either Dulce María, who was a few weeks after giving birth to her daughter María Paula.
The singer will now join them on tour starting this summer and will tour countries including the US, Mexico, Colombia and Brazil. not like that “Poncho” Herrera, who remains steadfast in not colluding in this way with his former colleagues.
