The lovers have been planning to tie the knot for a long time, so Sergey’s eccentric and romantic step is a long-awaited event not only for the couple’s fans, but also for the athletes themselves.

Will you marry me? My heart and soul belong to you. I love you,” Polunin wrote in English.

Fans of the couple in the comments began to congratulate them and exclaim that “finally.” Polunin himself said earlier that all these years he had been waiting for the right moment, and the pandemic prevented plans to arrange a magnificent celebration:

Recall that at the end of April, the future spouses became parents for the second time – they had a son, who was named the original name Dar. They announced the replenishment on their social networks and supplemented the posts with the first photos of the baby.

Sergei Polunin and Elena Ilyinykh met in 2019 on the Internet, when the skater wrote words of gratitude to the famous dancer for his art. They first met in Munich at the performance of Polunin. They started talking about their romance in early April of the same year, when they appeared together at the Crocus Fitness Awards. From the stage, Sergei said that he had come to support his beloved, which provoked rumors about their romance. The stars officially confirmed their relationship later – on the Evening Urgant show. In January 2020, the couple had their first child, also a boy, who was named Mir. The second pregnancy of the couple became known in February this year. And in March, Sergei Polunin was urgently operated on due to a leg injury.
