The day after the coronation, King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla appeared on American TV. Performers Katy Perry and Lionel Richie offered to shine on the air of a popular musical show to the King of Great Britain and his wife, who performed at a grand coronation concert held on May 7 at Windsor Castle. And even though Perry and Richie, who are the judges of the show, were not able to attend American Idol in person, they still appeared in the frame with two very important and rare guests, which was a real surprise for the audience.
The company recorded the video just a few hours after the concert in the throne room of Windsor Castle. On the air, Carl and Camilla thanked the performers for their performances and dedication, and joked about how long they planned to use the space.
Recall that on the eve of the coronation, the media wrote that a huge number of pop stars refused to perform at the historic event. Ultimately, the line-up still took shape: Katy Perry, Nicole Scherzinger, Lionel Richie, Andrea Bocelli, Take That and other celebrities entered the scene.
In addition to Carl and Camilla, the concert was attended by Prince William, who read a fiery speech from the stage, and Kate Middleton with two children, George and Charlotte. The couple left the younger Louis at home: apparently, to take a break from the protocol celebrations in which he, just like an adult, was directly involved.
