Actor Dolph Lundgren, best known for the films “Aquaman” and “The Expendables”, admitted that he had been battling cancer for more than eight years. He was diagnosed with the disease in 2015. Dolph was diagnosed with kidney cancer. According to Page Six, Lundgren underwent surgery to remove the tumor at a Los Angeles clinic. The disease returned in 2020.
The doctors did a biopsy. She turned out to be malignant. I had a check-up every six months, and then once a year. Everything was fine for five years. But in 2020 I came back to Sweden and I got acid reflux. I don’t know what it was. I did an MRI, and the doctors found several more tumors in this area, Lundgren said.
The 65-year-old actor explained that doctors found six metastases. They were removed surgically. In 2021, Dolph was again under attack – he developed a new tumor. It was not possible to remove it, as education had time to increase before the preparation for the operation. Doctors changed Dolph’s treatment plan and prescribed him a course of chemotherapy.
I had an examination before the operation. The surgeon called and said, “No, she’s grown. Too big. We can’t get her out. She’s the size of a small lemon.” So they won’t be able to remove it, which means you need to go through therapy, Dolph explained.

The actor has long suffered from taking drugs. His chosen one, Emma Kordal, watched in horror as he suffered from pain. He also lost weight. Doctors for a long time hid the details of the course of the disease from Dolph. Doctors advised to spend more time with family. Tumors were also found in other organs.
And so I asked him: “How long do you think I have left to live?” And I think he said two or three years, but I can tell from his voice that he was thinking about less. I thought it was for sure. It’s like you’re looking at your life before you leave. I had a damn fine life, I lived five lives in one. So I was not upset, – assured Dolph.
The actor sought the advice of another doctor, who suggested a more effective method of treatment. Within three months, the tumors shrank by 20–30%. Lundgren said that if he had not switched to another treatment, he would have had 3-4 months left. By the end of 2022, the size of tumors has decreased by 90%. This allows surgery to remove scar tissue. Now the actor is preparing for surgery.
