Aracely Arámbula allegedly referred to Luis Miguel as a “cockroach” on May 13. This was hinted at by a video of ‘La Chule’ at a women’s empowerment conference.
The fact that this isn’t the first time he’s used the nickname to refer to someone from his past was a sign to many that he was referring to the father of his children.
Hours after this information was made public, “El Sol de México” used its social networks to display a precious memory.
Luis Miguel shares letter after Araceli Arabula called him a ‘cockroach’
On May 15, the 53-year-old singer posted a commemorative postcard on his social networks: a letter Frank Sinatra sent him in October 1996, when the then-young musical prodigy received his star on the Walk of Fame.
In the letter, the American singer asserted his admiration for ‘Micki’:
“For years, it has been flattering to hear young singers being considered the new Frank Sinatra. It was even better when I heard from a young man in Mexico that he had no comparison with anyone (that last part, underlined).”
The American legend later recalled his pleasant surprise when he encountered “Sol de México”:
“I realized that you are a true original, a huge talent and not ugly to look at.”
In addition to congratulating Luis Miguel on his Walk of Fame star, Frank Sinatra assured him that “there will be many more to come.”
The interpreter of “The Girl in the Blue Bikini” accompanied the letter with a photo of the American composer, but did not add more words. The publication also coincided with the mourning anniversary of the voice of “My Way”.
This was the friendship between Luis Miguel and Frank Sinatra
As expressed in the aforementioned letter, the “Fly Me To The Moon” singer had the opportunity to verify the talent of “Sol de México”. That’s because they did a duet in 1994.
Back then, Sinatra teamed up with talented singers from around the world to re-release the hits that marked his career.
For the song “Come Fly With Me”, from the album “Duets II”, he chose Luis Miguel. Although there are no details of what their first approaches were like, it is known that they recorded it from a distance.
It took a year for the artists to perform their song live, at a concert celebrating Frank Sinatra. On that occasion, “Luis Mi” also admitted that he learned English from his colleague and idol’s songs.
According to statements collected by Infobae, he commented:
“When I was a child, I had the opportunity to listen to Frank Sinatra’s songs, so I think I learned English from his songs.”
Everything shows that this link was maintained over time, since, a year later, the voice of “La incondicional” received the aforementioned letter from his colleague.
