She sang and danced: how Naomi Campbell, Eva Longoria, Milla Jovovich, Leonardo DiCaprio and all walked in Cannes

It’s not for nothing that we write “sang and danced”, because the theme of the charity ball, organized by the former editor-in-chief of the French version of Vogue magazine Karine Roitfeld, was wedding fashion (on Russian Telegram channels, the dinner was jokingly called “Let’s get married”). Guests were not required to dress in white – although some chose just such an option, they were only asked to comply with the black tie dress code.

The venue was the Cap-Eden-Roc Hotel in Antibes, located on the seafront. The amfAR Foundation (American Foundation for AIDS Research) has been successful in bringing together the most influential people in the world of film and fashion, who appear at the Cannes Film Festival, for their dinner. At their events, auctions are held (various art objects usually go under the hammer), the proceeds from which go to the foundation’s research, including work on the creation of an AIDS vaccine.

But, for the most part, the auction itself remains in the background. The guest list and their photocall on the red carpet come out first. This time, the guests of the gala dinner were Eva Longoria, May Mask, Cara Delevingne, Nina Dobrev, Naomi Campbell, Casey Affleck and Tom Hanks, already well known from this week’s premieres and parties. But there were also “newcomers” to the gossip column of the Cannes Film Festival – for example, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Graham, Christina Aguilera, Deborah Sekku. A couple of pictures from dinner even Leonardo DiCaprio lit up (click on the link to see his photo)which one of these days paparazzi photographed sunbathing on a yacht off the coast of France.

A group of models also landed on the red carpet: Natasha Poly, Shanina Shayk, Coco Rocha, Elsa Hosk, Isabeli Fontana, Cindy Bruna, Stella Maxwell, Candice Swanepoel, Valentina Sampaio, Alessandra Ambrosio professionally posed for photographers.

The special guest of the dinner was the legendary actor Robert De Niro. The actor was presented with an honorary amFAR award, and a painting painted by his father was auctioned for $534,900. De Niro himself also became a lot – the lucky one who paid a large amount will go to dinner with him. Also sold this evening: ten photographs by Christopher Makos (with Andy Warhol, Salvador Dali, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Liza Minnelli and Elizabeth Taylor), canvas by Chris Levine, tour of the Galapagos Islands, Wiesmann electric car, bronze statue of Jonathan Chaplin, painting Kenny Scharf, sculptures by Manolo Valdes, graffiti by Austin Weiner, sculpture by Yves Scherer, painting by Christina de Miguel, as well as Chopard earrings, diamond necklace.
