“I wanted to show modern style”: Irina Shayk spoke about her images at the Cannes Film Festival

Irina Shayk wowed everyone on the red carpet at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and has become one of the most talked about celebrities. On this occasion, Vogue magazine decided to talk to the model and find out how she chose outfits for film screening events. Irina said that she considers Cannes a special place for herself.

I had a lot of fun putting together my wardrobe for Cannes this year. I wanted to support some of the great designers I really love with my outfits and showcase the modern way to dress for Cannes. It’s really hard to pick just one favorite look, they’re all so unique.

Speaking about her style, Irina noted that the most beautiful thing that can complement the image of any girl is self-confidence and good health. Sheik also spoke about her first memory of fashion and France.

I was 20 years old and had just moved from a small Russian town to Paris. I went to school in a city in the middle of nowhere and I really wanted to be part of the fashion world. My first couture show was for Givenchy. It was a great honor for me to work with Ricardo Tisci, who was then the creative director of the brand. It was a defining moment that changed my life.

The catwalk star also gave advice to aspiring models. Sheik noted that in this industry it is important to make connections and communicate with people. Irina knows this from her own experience, some of her best friends are designer Riccardo Tisci and model Stella Maxwell, whom Shayk recently touchingly congratulated on her birthday.

Surround yourself with people you really like and take the time to connect with the people you meet along your career path. The people I met through work are now some of my closest friends, they are like family. We support each other and always have a great time together.
