The singer sought medical attention after experiencing abdominal pain and shortness of breath.
Fluminense singer and composer Rust, 34 years old, underwent emergency surgery on Monday 19 June. The sambist sought a hospital in Rio de Janeiro after experiencing abdominal pain and shortness of breath.
Ferrugem underwent a laparoscopic cholecystectomy, i.e. the removal of the gallbladder and a hernia. The singer’s wife, Thais Vasconcellos, told her on social media that, despite the fear and the urgency for the surgery, everything went well.
“Jheison (Ferrugem) hadn’t felt well for a long time, with a lot of abdominal pain and shortness of breath whenever he practiced or sang. He was available,” Thaís explained.
The singer also posted photos and videos of him from the hospital to tell his fans that everything is fine. Despite this, the medical recommendation is that Ferrugem cancel all his appointments for the next 15 days.
Ferrugem released his debut album in 2015 and has since had hits like I’m not one to give up, I miss you, pirate and treasure, to make you believer, among others. The singer is preparing to release a song in collaboration with the singer Louise Sonza.
