Singer Roger Waters and guitarist David Gilmour have been arguing for years
When it comes to the song Squadgreat success of Pink fluidin the last episode of the show The story behind the songthe drummer Nick Massone stated that by joining the guitarist david gimour and the singer roger waters a band reunion would need someone like the deceased Nelson Mandela (1918-2013) to broker a reconciliation between the two.
“The only thing I would think would be possible would be if there was some… If by going back we could affect the salvation of the planet or world peace or something like that. But other than that, no. It would take a Nelson Mandela or someone like that to guide it.” Mason said.
The three reunited for a concert by Comfortably Numbin May 2011 during Waters’ visit to London. At the time, Gilmour even posted that he would not repeat “the special guest presentation at a later occasion.” The guitarist and singer have remained at odds ever since, with Mason acting as go-between.
In April of this year, the drummer even said that he was “tempted” to reunite the band and praised Waters’ re-recording of The dark side of the moon.
