The Duchess of Sussex reportedly hand-wrote a letter to the singer, who refused to participate in Spotify’s ‘Archetypes’ attraction; Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s contract with the platform ended earlier this month
Singer Taylor Swift declined to join the podcast archetypes by Megan Markle. This was revealed by the American newspaper Wall Street Journal. According to the newspaper, the Duchess of Sussex sent a letter to the artist who, through her representative, denied her invitation. The reason was not detailed.
The attraction was the result of a million-dollar deal Meghan and Prince Harry signed with Spotify. After a disagreement with the head of innovation and overseer of podcast monetization, the pair broke their partnership with the streaming company in early June.
Also according to the newspaper, the reason would have been the low productivity behind the scenes of the program. The last episode was in November 2022 and received stars of different segments such as Paris Hilton, Mariah Carey and Serena Williams.
In all, the show released 12 episodes that focused on addressing the stereotypes faced by women.
According to a source interviewed by the newspaper, Harry and Meghan “sometimes seem surprised by the work required to complete entertainment projects,” he stressed. “Most potential initiatives, they say, follow a similar path: great idea, poor execution.”
