His name may mean nothing to you, but you definitely know Drew Struzan’s work. This legendary artist created iconic posters for the original Star Wars trilogy, the prequels, Indiana Jones, ET, Future Saga, The Goonies, Blade Runner, The Thing, Harry Potter, The Escapees and many other films dating back to the 70s.
In total, he created more than 150 movie posters. An incredible piece of American cinema, making it an absolute icon of pop culture. And a matrix of inspiration for an entire generation of illustrators.

Lucas and Spielberg were such fans of the artist that the father of Star Wars asked him to create a logo for Industrial Light & Magic, a legendary company that specializes in creating SFX. when and Released in theaters in 1982, Spielberg did not allow photos of the alien to be used to promote the film, instead featuring his creation as a character drawn by Drew Struzan.
For the release of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, George Lucas contractually mandated that Struzan’s poster be the only artwork foreign distributors could use, and that it could not be altered in any way except for the text. This shows trust and respect for him.
