Celebrations on the occasion of the Platinum Jubilee of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II continue, and today they have smoothly moved from the capital to the regions of the country. As previously announced, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge traveled to Cardiff, Wales.

On Saturday afternoon, the couple, along with Prince George and Princess Charlotte, arrived at Cardiff Castle to chat with artists and crew members participating in a special concert dedicated to just the 70th anniversary of Her Majesty on the throne. The concert will take place tonight. For the younger members of the royal family – 8-year-old George and 7-year-old Charlotte – this is the first trip to Wales. But for George, third in line to the British throne, this day is especially important because his father, Prince William, also visited Wales for the first time when he was 8 years old. In March 1991, Princess Diana and Prince Charles took little William with them to Cardiff. Then the locals gave the young prince daffodils, the national flower of Wales.

Kate appeared in Cardiff in a scarlet Eponine London coat, under which a dark silk dress was hidden, and black shoes, and she put her hair in a high ponytail. Her only daughter was wearing a black short coat and blue ballerinas. Father William and son George were dressed in similar gray and blue suits, their images differed only in shirts: William wore light blue, and George – white and blue striped.

Another concert will take place today in London – in the evening, at three venues in front of Buckingham Palace, an anniversary concert will be given, at which Diana Ross, George Ezra, Alicia Keys, Nile Rodgers and other stars will perform in front of 22 thousand spectators and a multi-million television audience. The performance of Sir Elton John is also announced, however, the other day he was photographed moving in a wheelchair and it is not clear whether his health will allow him to appear on stage. It is unlikely that the Queen will attend these celebrations. However, like Harry and Megan, the couple are celebrating the first birthday of their daughter Lilibet Diana today.
