Sasha Bauercandidate for Miss Universe Brazil 2023 representing the State of Santa Catarina, participated in the parade of the typical costumes of the competition wearing a “peasant woman of Santa Catarina” dress inspired by the one worn by Vera Fisher in 1969, the year in which the actress won the Miss Brazil and ran for Miss Universe.
“The peasant girl from Santa Catarina is a reinterpretation of the costume worn by Vera Fisher of Blumenau in 1969, when Santa Catarina won her first national crown. In addition to saving these German peasant traditions on holidays, the costume also celebrates the culture that strengthens tourism in the state,” the speakers explained.
The details of the basket, sleeves and collar were also present. The big difference was in the color of the costume, green in 2023, and red when worn by Vera Fischer.
