Bard: Google launches new competitor ChatGPT in Brazil

Bard, Google’s artificial intelligence tool, launched on Thursday (7/13) in Brazil after three months of arriving in the US and UK. The free service has emerged as a direct competitor to ChatGPT, created by OpenAI.

The bot expansion is available in over 40 languages, including Portuguese, and allows you to include images in your replies. The tool also allows you to change your tone and style for shorter or more professional conversations.

To access it, just go to the “bard.google.com” site and request a task, such as writing texts, tourist itineraries, programming codes, advice on how to do an activity, ideas for lunch, among others.

Google also announced the launch of new features offered by Bard: sharing of answers via links, answers played aloud and exporting the source code to the Replit website.

differentiable details

Bard needs to integrate other resources that its developer already works, such as the tools Gmail, Google Docs and Google Sheets.

Additionally, the service may be used in conjunction with Google Maps to describe landmarks, as well as describe or create text (in English) related to the photo using Google Lens technology.

The news doesn’t stop there: the service also has partnerships with companies such as Adobe and Spotify, which allow the construction of visual elements or sound responses.

new treasure

Announced in February of this year, Bard is a robotic extension that tries to “copy” humans when they text. The tool is based on LaMDA (Language Model for Dialog Applications) artificial intelligence and trained by information from the Internet.

Despite the novelty, the service is still being treated as a Google experiment and is expected to evolve as its responses are rated by users. The company has guaranteed that it will lead the development of Bard to avoid creating or reinforcing bias or other harm to society.

It is worth noting that, so far, ChatGPT still faces transparency difficulties in relation to the sources used. The answers offered by the service may not be as reliable as expected.

“As we bring Bard to more regions and languages over time, we will continue to use our AI principles for guidance, incorporate user feedback, and take steps to protect people’s privacy and data,” said Bruno Pôssas , Global Vice President of Engineering for Google Search.
