The driver who hit Kayky Brito recorded a video to thank him for the love he received after the accident in the early hours of last Saturday 2. The actor crossed the lane of Avenida Lucio Costa, in Barra da Tijuca, in the western area Rio de Janeiro area, and ended up getting shot.
Diones Da Silva said that they have been complicated days and that he is rooting for the artist’s recovery. “I can’t sleep well. I really hope Kayky gets better soon, she gets out of this situation and gets back to her little son,” he said on social media.
The app’s driver has opened a crowdfunding campaign to pay for the repair costs of his car, which was damaged after the accident. “I can’t work, my car is damaged, I have nowhere to get it, it was the only support I had to bring food home”, he declared emotionally.
Initially, Diones Da Silva’s goal was to raise R$30,000, but the campaign has already surpassed R$50,000. Several celebrities left messages and asked him to reach out privately to help.
The driver testified last Wednesday, 6, and said he was under the speed limit at the scene. Furthermore, he underwent a test which did not identify the presence of alcohol in the blood.

“Down there the runway is 60 [km]. I thought it was 60, but then the delegate said it was 70 (km/h). It was far below the runway limit. Also because I was with a passenger, caution. I’ve never had any problems in traffic,” he told TV Globo.
The latest medical bulletin reports that Kayky Brito showed “signs of developmental improvement”. The actor suffered a head injury and multiple body trauma and was hospitalized in serious condition at the Miguel Couto hospital. On Sunday the 3rd he was transferred to the Copa D’or hospital, in the southern area of Rio, still in serious condition.
