On Sept. 10, police found the body of Nichole “Nikki” Coats in her apartment on Grand Avenue after family members who had been unable to reach her called authorities.

The scene found was disturbing, with the model’s bed covered in blood. Despite this, the police are not treating the case as a homicide for now. The victim’s family, however, is convinced that she was killed.

Just two days later, on September 12, Maleesa Mooney was found dead in her apartment in the Bunker Hill neighborhood. This case is being treated as a homicide by authorities, who are still awaiting autopsy results to determine the cause of her death. Mooney, known as a loving person and “peacemaker” in the family, also worked as a real estate agent.

On Instagram, Jourdin PaulineMooney’s sister, expressed her pain and disbelief in a post: “Never in my life did I think I would have to make this post and seek justice for my only sister. This is so sick. We will get justice for you, my sister , I promise you won’t. It was in vain,” he wrote.

The investigation is ongoing and police are seeking community input in identifying a possible suspect in Mooney’s case.
