Antonio Fagundes shared delicate details behind the scenes of a soap opera
Antonio Fagundes opened up and spoke for the first time about being a victim of ageism behind the scenes at Rede Globo. The actor almost underwent cosmetic surgery on his face to treat fine lines.
Gilberto Bragaauthor of King of cattlehis appearance teased. “He said, ‘Fagundes, you need to have plastic surgery to remove that bag under your eyes. It ages you,'” he revealed to the newspaper O Globo.
And he continued: “Gilberto was almost my age and couldn’t write for characters of his age. This is in fact a problem with our dramaturgy, which goes against the aging of the country…”.
“Dramaturgy, television dramaturgy and cinematography reflect this desire for youth that society mistakenly supports. It is clear that the authors of soap operas and films have a certain difficulty in approaching aging, even if they have already aged”he concluded.
