Rodrigo Faro sues Globo for the Gugu Liberato special

Then the presenter paid tribute to his colleague, but let the audience’s curiosity slip.

Rodrigo Faro has opened a legal case against Globo to try to remove texts that contain references to the Gugu Liberato case. The presenter of “Hora do Faro” then hosted the special in honor of his colleague, but was curious about the number of viewers.

“How is the audience?” he asked the production team, unaware that the program was on the air. At the time, Faro’s attitude aroused numerous criticisms because it was a time of unrest and the Globo group’s media reported on the situation, saying that he was being “shamed”.

Developments

The aim of the action is to remove all the broadcaster’s material available on the Internet, as happened in the dispute against Google – for the same reason, in 2021. The search engine, however, said it was not able to remove all links and recommended individual actions.

“The author [Rodrigo Faro]who until that moment was esteemed by everyone and had never been involved in controversy, in a single episode found himself judged and attacked in a sordid manner simply for the fact that he was carrying out his job, despite the tributes paid at the time”, we read in an extract from the petition.

The presenter’s lawyer, Jéssica de Santana Santos, reiterated good relations with Globo during the time she worked at the company, but said she “had no alternative due to the court’s decision on Google”. The defense also said that they tried to circumvent the situation, without success: “We tried to resolve it at an administrative level, but we had no answers. It’s very difficult, it’s a very big company,” he told Folha de S Paulo. . Globo does not comment on cases pending in court. Faro’s office denies the prosecution.
