Even names like Vin Diesel and Jason Statham require clauses in action movie contracts
Dwayne Johnson imposes a limit on the number of attacks your characters can take in the scene. The unusual clause in the actor’s contracts was revealed by the Wall Street Journal.
According to the publication, The Rock requires that, in action films involving occasional scenes of aggression, he cannot take more hits than his character does.
Therefore, The Rock “receives little success” in his work and his characters “hit more than they get hit.” This, however, is not an uncommon requirement in Hollywood star contracts.
The paper also reveals that names like Vin Diesel and Jason Statham, colleagues from the Fast and Furious franchise, require the same length in their contracts, which may have made filming difficult.
