The presenter released a video statement to her fans on Thursday evening, the 16th
The presenter Ana Hickmann she published a video statement on her YouTube channel on Thursday evening, the 16th, in which she preferred not to provide many details about what happened during the argument with her husband Alessandro Correa. Hickmann thanked her fans and asked them to continue following her.
“I won’t stop. I won’t stop living. I won’t stop being happy. I won’t stop fighting.
I will not stop taking care of my son. Nobody will stop me”, he said, announcing that on Monday the 20th he will resume posting on the channel with the recordings already made.
As for the situation with her husband, Ana Hickmann made it clear that she is waiting for the best time to “open her heart” to her fans.
“I’m not just a woman, I’m a mother. And this mother here will defend her little one, her son, with all her strength. My son is the most important thing in life for me. That’s exactly why I say I’m not ready yet to speak because he too must be ready. He must be protected”, he explained.
“What happened to me, unfortunately, happens to many women. But I hope that, together, we can change this story,” she also said, throughout the video.
The couple’s son may have suffered “psychological violence”
The presence of Ana Hickmann’s son when she was attacked by Alexandre Correa could make the situation worse for the presenter’s husband. This is what Valéria Scarance, prosecutor and professor at the PUC of São Paulo, explains in an interview with Earth. According to her, the fact that Alexandre exposed the boy to a crime against a family member constitutes “psychological violence against children”.
“In this sense, there is a specific provision in the Special Deposition Law. Therefore, attacking a mother in the presence of a child is also violence against the child,” he summarizes.
In this way, the Court can ask for measures to protect the minor. There is even the possibility of prohibiting contact between the boy and his father.
What happened to Ana Hickmann?
Ana Hickmann was attacked by her husband, the entrepreneur Alexandre Correa, on the afternoon of Saturday 11th, in the couple’s home in Itu, in the hinterland of Sao Paulo. She had to go to a city hospital and her left arm was immobilized.
According to the police report, the host was talking to her son in the kitchen when her husband heard it and did not appreciate the content. The argument scared the boy, who left the place. Alexandre allegedly pushed Ana against the wall and threatened to headbutt the presenter.
Understanding what a protective measure is, a legal action that Ana Hickmann rejected
In an attempt to free herself from her husband, the presenter tried to take her cell phone from the table to ask for help. The businessman closed the kitchen door, hitting Ana on her arm, who ended up locking her husband out of the room and calling the police. When the Military Police arrived, the businessman was no longer at home. The presenter denied the protective measures provided for by the Maria da Penha Law.
Ana went to the hospital on her own and was examined by an orthopedist. Her left arm was immobilized by a bruised elbow. In a statement, she confirmed the fight but did not mention the assault.
“After an argument between Alexandre Correa and Ana Hickmann last Saturday (11), the Military Police was called and the presenter was taken to the Police District to clarify the facts. Through her press office, Ana Hickmann thanks her for her affection and the fans ‘sympathises and informs that he is at home, he is well and fortunately he has not suffered any significant consequences to his physical integrity”, we read in the text.
Faced with the presenter’s position, Alexandre denied the attack by contacting the journalist Leo Dias. He later admitted the crime, but downplayed the circumstances. “Yesterday, in fact, I had an argument with my wife, an absolutely isolated situation, which did not generate any significant consequences. I would also like to point out that I never gave her a headbutt, as falsely reported by the press, and that everything will be duly clarified at the appropriate time.”
