RBD’s Dulce Maria mourns the death of a Taylor Swift fan during a concert in Rio de Janeiro


The artist recalled the moment three fans of the Mexican group died after a riot during a 2006 show here in Brazil

Singer Dulce María, of the group RBD, mourned the death of Ana Benevides, a fan of Taylor Swift died during the North American singer’s concert last Sunday in Rio de Janeiro. “It’s something terrible, for which there are no words,” said the Mexican when questioned by a television station.

“It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Ana Clara Benevides Machado, 23 years old. Last night, Ana Clara did not feel well and was promptly assisted by the team of firefighters and paramedics, transported to the medical station at Nilton Stadium Santos for the first aid protocol. Given the situation, the medical team chose to transfer her to the Salgado Filho Hospital, where, after almost an hour of emergency care, she unfortunately died. To Ana’s family and friends Clara Benevides Machado, our most sincere condolences,” she told T4F.

The event organizer also published a statement stating that it will encourage “the free supply of water in queues and at all accesses and entrances to the stadium and inside”. After the order published by the government, they allowed flexible plastic bottles for the event.
