The fourth day of the Royal Ascot race did not portend any surprises – the senior members of the British royal family, who usually honor them with their presence only in the first three days (and only five), did not arrive at Ascot. And Thursday, when the competition for the best hat usually takes place, also passed. But, to everyone’s surprise, in the evening the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived at the races.
Kate Middleton followed all the subtleties of the event dress code and chose a closed white Alessandra Rich polka-dot dress with a pleated skirt, adding brown suede pumps, a clutch of the same color and a hat with faux flowers. Of the jewelry on the royal person were diamond earrings with large pearls belonging to Princess Diana. Prince William wore a classic tuxedo and top hat.
