Matteo Possebon he was removed from the event production company Opus Entretenimento, where he worked as a manager, after his preventive arrest. The businessman managed the career of Alexandre Pires before the two were investigated by the Federal Police (PF) on charges of involvement in illegal mining activities on Yanomami indigenous lands, in Roraima.

“The Opus Entretenimento, with 47 years of experience in the events market, clarifies that it is not mentioned in the Operação Disco de Ouro, is not aware of any irregular activity carried out by people linked to the company and trusts that the competent authorities will investigate properly on the facts.

Businessman Matheus Possebon acted as a service provider in organizing shows, tours and career management, without participating in the company’s partnership. And, until further clarification, he is far from the company’s activities.

With more than 3,000 shows a year and a total audience estimated at 6 million people, Opus remains committed to promoting culture and entertainment across the country.”

The producer confirmed that he will continue to manage Alexandre Pires following Matheus’ departure. According to the investigation, Pires received at least R$1 million from a mining company under investigation. Possebon is suspected of financing mining on Yanomami indigenous land. To the Estadao, Possebon’s defense lawyer, Fábio Tofic Simantob, confirmed that he was arrested preventively. In a note sent to the journalist, he specified that the arrest “is violent” and “was ordered due to a single financial transaction with a company with which Matheus has no commercial relationship”.

“Even more serious, the arrest took place without Matheus even being able to clarify the transaction. The defense, however, is certain that this violence will be promptly cancelled, and that Matheus will be able to freely demonstrate that he had nothing to do with this investigation “, reads the statement.

The report attempted to contact Pires, but did not receive a response at the time of publication. The singer’s lawyers sent a public note to the address Estadao denying the singer’s involvement with mining or mining. They still deny “any wrongdoing” (see full note below).
