The 59-year-old singer posted a lengthy message on social media explaining his condition and saying “goodbye”.

Before that, he revealed on his digital platforms that he thought he would not be able to perform his presentation the day before in the same city.
“A Farewell to Santiago. Thank you for making the impossible so easy. I thought I wasn’t ready to take a step yesterday afternoon and ended up marathoning the biggest impromptu catwalk of my life. Pretty much how my career has been since the beginning,” he wrote.
Ricardo Arzona then explained that he had to get help from doctors to achieve his goal, since he is facing a serious health problem.
“To the doctors who got me on my feet so I could complete this journey by postponing an upcoming surgery, thank you very much,” he noted.
“I’ve had 6 spinal taps with me in the last two months to be able to stay upright during this farewell,” he added.
After expressing his gratitude to his team members for supporting him throughout this time, the composer revealed that he will be absent.
“I will have to disappear to invent a reason that is greater than this. If I don’t find it, I’d rather not come back,” he said.
“Life and people have been incredibly generous to this Guatemalan from the neighborhood, a public school teacher, who by playing the guitar, adding a few words and inventing a melody, achieved a miracle he never suspected,” he added.

Following his letter, Ricardo Arjona opened up about what he believes the environment led him to change himself.
“I don’t agree with the industry. I’m too much of a walker for this journey through the stars. They turned the bohemian and irresponsible boy into a defensive and isolated guy thanks to all the sticks I was carrying when it started,” he noted.
“I spent all my lying in the early years of my career to survive in this world of tobacco, and after that, I only smiled at those I liked. I still believe that smiling without desire is bad for your health and there is so much of that around,” she confessed.
Before concluding his reflection, the artist pointed out that his “family and friends” are his “nest and happiness” and assured that he “lacks nothing”.
“For those of you who went to the trouble of the lines, the budgets, the trouble to attend one of my concerts, my sincere thanks,” he said.
