A journalist, who had been diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, was treating a urinary infection

After six days of hospitalization for a urinary tract infection, Evaristo Costa was discharged from hospital this Wednesday 17th. “Thank you for all the messages of affection, support, prayers,” he wrote on his Instagram account. The journalist was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, a chronic inflammatory disease affecting the digestive system, four years ago. He complained of abdominal pain, diarrhoea, weight loss and fever before being admitted to hospital in Cambridge, UK.

During his days in hospital, Evaristo shared his routine on Instagram and explained to his followers the reason for his hospitalization. “My Crohn’s diagnosis is relatively new, I discovered it four years ago. You can see that I have not yet learned to live with it and control it. But I’m getting there! I continue with my immunological resistance on the ‘sole of my foot’.”

The presenter shared the news of her discharge on social media: “I am not leaving with the infection under control according to the latest tests, but I will continue treatment at home with oral antibiotics. Thank you for all the messages of affection, support and prayers. .. Thank you for keeping me company during these six days of hospitalization.”

In the publication’s comments, her followers were thrilled with the news. “We’re happy with you too! Let’s go to the next adventure in the world of Evaristos,” wrote one internet user.

In November last year, the journalist was admitted to hospital and diagnosed with erysipelas, a skin infection on his leg.
