The day before, 40-year-old Princess Madeleine of Sweden, her husband Christopher O’Neill and 7-year-old son Nicholas Paul Gustaf arrived in Ongermanland, a historic province in northern Sweden, the Norrland region, which is famous for its natural diversity and picturesque landscapes.
The purpose of the trip was to open a protected park for children, which the young prince received as a baptismal gift from the district council of Vasternorrland. Naturally, royal photographers captured such a memorable historical moment, and Princess Madeleine shared photos with subscribers, congratulating her son and thanking everyone involved in the opening in the post.

At the event, the royal family looked very democratic. All three opted for casual looks with a hint of Scandinavian chic: Madeleine dressed in a pale pink short coat with a matching knitted T-shirt and simple white jeans with sneakers, her husband Christopher O’Neill appeared in public in blue trousers, a blue shirt and an indigo jacket with plenty of pockets, and Prince Nicholas donned the same blue trousers as his father and a blue-striped Ralph Lauren shirt.
In addition, during their visit to the Swedish province of Ongermanland, the monarchs visited the picturesque coasts of Naturum Hoga and Skuleberget, where they admired the green hills and impressive sea views.
Recall that Princess Madeleine has been married to American economist Chris O’Neill since 2013. They met a year earlier in a common company, and friendly communication grew into personal meetings, which took place more and more often. The lovers carefully concealed their relationship, only the closest knew about them. The couple have three children – 7-year-old Nicholas Paul Gustav, 8-year-old Leonor and 4-year-old Adrienne. They live permanently in Miami, but this summer, apparently, they decided to stay in Madeleine’s homeland in Sweden.
Princess Madeleine is second in line to the throne after her sister, Crown Princess Victoria. Earlier on June 10, Madeleine celebrated her 40th birthday, and on this occasion, the palace published her new official portrait. However, this is not the only June holiday for her family – on the 18th, Prince Nicholas turned 7.
