Prince William returned, this Wednesday (07), to the agenda of royal appointments following King Charles III’s announcement of prostate cancer AND wife Kate Middleton’s mysterious abdominal surgery last month. Among the events in which he participated of the next monarch in line to the throneit was the London Air Ambulance charity gala dinner.
At the scene, William made a simple and concise statement about his father’s health and thanked the press and public present. “We really appreciate everyone’s kind messages, thank you,” he said.
William remained away from public commitments during the first days of Kate’s hospitalization, which was operated on January 16. With his father and wife absent, the Prince of Wales will become the main public figure of the British monarchy in the coming months.
WILL KING CHARLES III BE REPLACED BY PRINCE WILLIAM?
Despite the suspension of public commitments, King Charles will not completely distance himself from his obligations as Sovereign. The monarch will not stop working in connection with state affairs and official documentation.
If health conditions prevent Charles from carrying out his requests, William will not be the one to replace his father in his fight against the disease. The Constitution of the United Kingdom provides for the appointment of a Council of State for this period.
